Our second meeting of the year and wow what a meeting. Where to start?

I think we will start with the welcomes, so welcome and thankyou to all of you that are regulars and a big welcome to all our new members. our FB diary dates indicated 19 people were coming and while it is never accurate it usually gives a fair indication. Not this meeting. We had 50 drivers and 22 spectators, so it was fairly busy. Thank you all.

on to the announcements of which there were a few.

First, we ask that you all please do a few things that will help the meetings run smoother.

  • Please don't walk on the track, other drivers can't get past you and you might get hit.
  • Please leave room for people to walk around the track, dodging in and out can cause accidents.
  • Please do not leave your models in the walkways, accidents can happen.

Second, we have purchased a grill and that enables us to offer some hot food, sausage baps at the moment. Alongside that was our now regular tuck shop.

Third, Devon Truck Show, message Paul if you are a member and interested in helping our layout there.

Fourth, we have a raffle up and running. It is for Astec Models vouchers 1x £100 2x £50 an 2x £25. The draw will be made at the April meeting.

Fifth, the featured truck articles have been shelved. Over the last two and a half years the number and quality of the yards has gone up and up, with that in mind we will have a featured yard for a time. The yard will be chosen by the committee. Let's see how it goes.

Back to the trucks. This month we have tried to leave a larger space near the entrance doors, partly by leaving gaps either side and partly by moving the track over by 60 cm. On my few laps it seemed to work, what do you all think?

Did you spot the additions? More hedges, Street lights, The DVSA weighbridge made a return. Did you notice? There are a couple more things in the pipeline as well!

With 41 drivers and a fair number of spectators it was bound to be a bit busy, but not overcrowded. I seemed to spend a lot of time chatting, mainly on technical issues, we are always open to providing advice or introducing you to someone that can help. A lot of very nice trucks once more, some that are regulars and some new ones. We are looking forward to the new builds coming through. There seemed to be plenty of parking spaces, so still room for more trucks.

We usually put out a couple of bus stops but up until this meeting they have not been used. Not so this meeting as a Berry's coach spent most, if not all of, its time at one stop, lovely to see it again.

It was also great to see all the youngsters having a good time.

The check in and cafe were very very busy so sorry for the queues but a huge thank you to the crew who man it. Nicola, Lin and Mandy were very busy this month so a huge thanks to them.

On to the pictures.
