HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT:

West Country RC Truckers Club is strongly committed to encouraging our members to take part in our meets and events, and we recognise we have a duty of care to ourselves and others to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of each individual.

HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY

To support our Health and Safety policy statement the Committee are committed to the following;

  • Undertake regular, recorded risk assessment of the premises we hold our meets to create a safe environment by putting health and safety measures in place as identified by the assessment.

 

  • Undertake a risk assessment of any location where we are attending a third party event in association with that event’s organisers.

 

  • Ensure that all members are given the appropriate level of training where required.

 

  • Ensure that all members are aware of, understand and follow the club’s health and safety policy.

 

  • Have an appointed health and safety officer on the club committee.

 

  • Ensure that we have meet operating procedures in place and known by all members, through briefings and/or signage.

 

  • Provide access to adequate first aid facilities, telephone and first aider in attendance at all times.

 

  • Report any injuries or accidents sustained during any club activity or whilst on the premises where our meets are held. The Club has an Accident Book held at the Reception Desk.

 

  • Ensure that the implementation of the policy is reviewed regularly and monitored for effectiveness.

 

 

AS A CLUB MEMBER YOU HAVE A DUTY TO:

  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by what you do or not do.

 

  • Co-operate with the club on health and safety issues.

 

  • Follow the health and safety points in the club rules.

 

  • Correctly use any equipment provided by the club.

 

  • Not interfere with or misuse anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.

 

This policy will be reviewed annually, or in the following circumstances:

  • changes in legislation and/or government guidance.
  • as a result of any other significant change or event.
