Our second Christmas and New Year, so first off  Happy New Year from all of us at West Country RC Truckers Club, and we hope yo had a good Christmas and New Year.

This meeting followed on rapidly from New Year, so we expected it to be a bit less crowded than usual, and it was. It seems odd to say it but the “low” number of drivers was 35, a number that we could only dream of once.

We would like to thank those of you that help set up and break down, it would be nearly impossible for us to manage without you

It was good to see some old friends back and to greet new and prospective members. We hope to see you all again very soon. This is definitely a male dominated hobby and so it was really good to welcome another lady driver to our midst.

Last month the layout seemed to work really well without the bridge, more open and accessible and allows us to put more roadway down. This month was nearly all of it!  The central parking seemed better and better used and the inner circular allowed more diverse routes. The yards that you bring with you keep evolving and the different ranges of activities is ever growing.

A recent addition is our digging yard, we have invested in conveyors and coloured sealed medium for digging. This was all out again this month but saw little use IT IS THERE FOR EVERYONE TO USE.  Our idea is to have a destination yard as well but we are still developing that.

If you have suggestions then please do let us know.

The trucks keep impressing with some really stunning examples now gracing our roads. The imagination for loads is coming through as well with some superb ideas around, burnt out truck, scrap cars, huge logs and more.

They are great BUT and it’s a big one, having a stunning truck is not the be all and end all. If it does what you want of it then that’s good enough for us.

Enough from me and on to the pictures.
