Having just returned from holiday it was a bit of a rush for me! I thought I had everything sorted, no yard, no digger and no dump truck so it was easy.

This month we found the stage set up in the hall, which was a surprise, and meant a quick re-think on Jack's layout design by introducing a wiggle, luckily we don't think anyone noticed.

we plan to keep the layout down until 15:00, before we start 'teardown, but we noticed last month people started leaving early, we think there may have been a football match on (ROFL), and this month was similar, we think down to the good weather, unless you know any different, in which case please tell us!

As this was the last full meeting of the year I delayed the article until after our Directors meeting, (We meet regularly, usually once a month, to discuss the meetings, financial state, improvements, futures, promotion etc), in case there was anything to mention here. Having thought about it, there will be another article!

Getting back to the meeting, it was not quite as busy this month, notably fewer spectators. Having said that we had 37 registered drivers 31 Members, 3 Day members and 3 Juniors, so not as busy as it has been but still busy enough. The space seemed to allow people more room to do things in their yards so all to the good.

We have received some feedback from a couple of members around the question of "how do you check who has paid to drive". The honest answer is that we never expected to be so popular and thought we could do it by memory. We have regularly checked the number of drivers and spectators in the hall compared to the Registration book, and on the whole the numbers have tallied.  However, we have been looking at a number of options, to make this easier, and fair to those drivers that do pay. We decided the most economic and practical solution was the introduction of the Tyvek wrist bands. We hope you like and get used to them as we make no apology for ensuring your club money is gathered and looked after properly!

It was good to see a mix of different people coming and that makes for a different mix of trucks and activities. I particularly liked the two escort vans, I'll have to have a closer look at them, and of course the truck of the month which is stunning. I would also like to mention two more, the green king hauler day cab conversion and the Smokey and the bandit T cab. A few years ago we would be lucky to have one truck of that quality and now we are blessed with more and more of them.

To the pictures!

This is the 10th month since we started but only the 9th meeting due to a double booking error last November, it is also our last full meeting for this club year (September to September), so it is now time for us to reflect on our fantastic first year, do some maintenance on the layout, and make some plans for the future.

We do have 3 events in the calendar, one is small and one is unconfirmed but before that we have the UK RC TRUCKERS NATIONAL GATHERING , the 2022 event is scheduled for  9th & 10th July and booking closes at midnight of June 19th. We will have a good representation there, including a 'Club' yard.

The week after that, on 16th and  17th July  is the Truck Show - Cornwall, Stithians Showground, Truro, again we have a large marquee of similar size to the one at Devon Truck Show, that needs filling so if you are a Club member and wish to attend please fill in the form on the our Truck Show - Cornwall Page . Attendance is £10 for one day and £15 for two days, Spectators £5.00. Details are on our WCRCTC Events page.

That's it for now, we wish you all a great and safe summer break, but please put September 11th in your diary for our next meeting AND look out for further info on our AGM which will be part of our extended October meet.

Last but not least. Congratulations to Stu and Nicola, Mr and Mrs Loud at last
