Another fantastic day at the club with a membership that continues to grow, spectators and visitors from the school and PTA. As it was the start of the Easter holidays we also had enthusiasts who had made long journeys to visit the club, and staying over at the camping/caravan site nearby.

We are keen to have children join in the fun so it was especially nice to see some very young faces really enjoying the trucks and layout, which was enhanced with the 1st visit of Chloe's stunning traction engine and wagon.

The layout was slightly smaller this month so we could accomodate children wanting to try out and practice driving rc trucks. Remember we have several members happy to help them if neccessary. It was quite surprising to see that even with tiny fingers, the enthusiasm they had meant some picked it up really well. Our youngest visitor of the day ? A beautiful baby girl just 3 weeks old. Congrats to the proud parents, ( I think they're members?).

All the parents were happy to give permission for us to take pictures for the club. (Jenny)

There were a surprising number of new builds appearing with some stunning ideas. Most of the yards were full and varied from Fair ground to steam traction engines (as mentioned above) digging pits of varying sizes and working yards. My favourite this month was a bruder conversion, a road sweeper that is still in progress. The brush looked really great and was made from, ah- can't say sworn to secrecy!

The membership has grown to nearly 90 with 0ver 320 drivers visiting over our first 7 meetings. It can be very busy so please keep the outside aisles clear for pedestrian traffic.

If you are a member then thanks for joining, it gives us a little leeway on what we can do plus access to our club products, shirts, hoodies etc, Club window decals, Car/box logo badges and very shortly lanyards. On top of that it covers you public liability insurance (Not loss or damage) wise for when we put on external events at shows, most of which now require proof of insurance and without which we cannot allow you to attend.

Along with getting youngsters involved we also aim to get ladies at the meets, and at this one we had more than ever. Whilst most are happy just to watch, they are mixing and chatting as we get to know each other, and hopefully will have a go at driving one day.

We now provide milk, low sugar squashes, savoury biscuits and drawing/colouring for the younger children.

Ever onwards and upwards.
